The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are now open and can close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should satisfy the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home having a combined gross house earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined household earnings does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and wish not post any evidence of earnings.

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
